Another warm day in Minsk. Went to the Central Children’s Garden where Elliot got to go on his first Merry Go Round. Plenty of kids out and about. Quite a few wedding parties as well.

Sadly had to say good bye to Svetlana today. Svetlana came to Minsk from Moscow for about 3 weeks to have a break and also keep Julia company. Svetlana has been to Perth a couple of times so has already met Elliot. Sveta loves kids (she has a grandson in Perth) and is a great lady, so it was just tops to have her around.
(I did try to coax a smile for a photo, but so far didn’t succeed.)
Julia’s dad bought Elliot a pool and we had a couple of steaming hot days that we could enjoy. Sadly the good weather only lasted a few days, but while it did, the dacha is a great place to be. Elliot was all wrinkly by the time we extracted him.
Tried Elliot in his backpack for the first time proper today. He gets a bit fed up of being in the stroller and so far the backpack seems to be a winner. He was happy and quiet all day as we shopped and walked around Minsk. He even managed to have a snooze while we were in the chocolate shop. Lots of old ladies make kind faces at me, I just need to remember that they are eyeing Elliot and not me.
Here we are feeding the pigeons near the main church in the centre of Minsk.
It is a big (ahem) step of freedom when you start to walk. No longer do you need people to carry you everywhere. Suddenly, given a chance, a toddler can go their own way. Elliot is pleased as punch to be able to walk and shrieks if you chase him. Great stuff.
