Elliot has been subjected to some serious anapestic tetrameter – being the common poetic style of one Theodor Seuss Geisel. Of course we are talking about the one and only Dr. Seuss.
Now that I’m older I find analysis of `Green Eggs and Ham’ fascinating. Try this “Sam-I-Am generally speaks in trochees, and the exasperated character he proselytizes replies in iambs.“
All I know is that it sounds great to read and I have fond memories of the story from someone or other who read it to me years ago. Hopefully Elliot will grow up with a finer understanding of how to reply to a proselytizer with an iamb.
