Its a tough life, this baby gig. Within a short time he is meant to know how and when to feed and how to let us know at which end the gas hurts, and even how to work out how to fall asleep.
I think we have most of his cries sorted now – just not sure if we know exactly how to fix them all. You have to wonder if they could talk at this age what would they be saying.
Take a cute outfit and a mother willing to take advantage of a poor defenseless tike, and this is what you get – a grown boy of 3 weeks dressed like a rabbit.
Bath time again. Needed to take dozens of shots to get ones where he looked like he was actually enjoying the water thing.
Wednesday is bath day. I wish I could bathe that infrequently …
Well thats what this toy thingy from Baby Einstein suggests. Sure he is too young to see and too young to wack anything but still it is too cute and bright and colourful to let it just sit there without being used.
Even though Elliot is grandchild number 5 on the Pascoe side, mum and dad are still pretty excited about another edition to the family. At any time of the day or night you will likely find Elliot snuggled in a wrap from grandma. And grandpa might just get RSI from cuddling Elliot.
Elliot is the first grandchild on Julia’s side. Unfortunately they will probably have to wait until the European summer next year to see him in the flesh. For now email and photos is the best we can do.
Actually we have a cheesy webcam here now so short grainy videos ought to be doable – stay tuned.
Seeing as how Elliot spends vast amounts of time with his eyes tightly shut (feeding, sleeping, squawking, venting fluids etc.) thought it might be good to get some alert shots
. So yes he does have eyes and he does sometimes flutter them at his mother. His little eyelashes are growing rapidly too. Not that I’m spending hours just staring at him – noooooo, never !
Even though you squirt poo out the side of your nappy, you wee on any unsuspecting nappy changer, you squawk at 3AM, and you nod off when being talked to, we’ve had a family vote – and you can stay Elliot.
Emma is one of my heroes. Officially my great-aunt, you have to work
pretty hard to ever get her to say anything bad about anyone. She has been a tireless saint for many many years at Mounties.
Not having many relatives in W.A. Emma has pretty much been my grandma. She is a sewer and made 2 gorgeous bags for Elliot.
With all her 7 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren she is a professional cuddler by now.
Station St. Markets in Subiaco. My turn to be a celebrity with Elliot in the Baby Bjorn. For months now Julia was the heavily pregnant celeb. He is an instant chick magnet. Women of all ages come and chat me up. OK they only ask after Elliot, and they surely don’t even notice me, but it is fun to have my moments of fame.
This is how you will likely find Elliot should you go looking for him. Up to 16 hours a day he just sleeps. Slowly some sort of routine is emerging.
1. Feed,
2. burp
3. change nappy
4. topup feed
5. sleep
6. Goto 1.
Can sometimes sneek some cuddle time in too
